: Can I wear my Seamaster Pro (Bond style) in the
: shower? I don't do it at home but when I'm
: at the gym I don't want to leave the watch
: unattended when I take a shower.
: Also, can anything be done about small
: scratches on the crystal? I've had a Heuer
: for 5 years and the crystal never scratches.
: Why would my Seamaster scratch? Maybe it's
: because the Crystal is bigger and a little
: more exposed on the Seamaster.
Technically you could wear the watch in the shower, but the hot water/soap combo can spell trouble for the gaskets and seals on the watch. Soap reduces the surface tension of water making easier to get into the watch. Hence I do not wear my SMP 007 in the shower.....However, I also own a Seiko diver which I wore 24/7 before getting the SMP. I wore the Seiko in the shower everyday for the better part of ten years, with no problems. But the Seiko would be a lot cheaper to repair/replace than the SMP. In your place, I probably wouldn't wear the SMP to the gym at all.
