Many Omega fans here and on the TZ site have Seamaster Devilles. They're great, classy looking watches. For servicing and repair, the watch is entered throug the face. I know Omega can service it for you. Someone else may know a better place for you to take it.
I'm sorry your father is in a nursing home, but congratulations on receiving such a fine legacy from him.
