The Process!

Hi Michael,

Not too amazing really. I bought the watch from a WIS earlier in the year, the watch was functional but someone had don a DIY case finish on it with what looked like sand paper so as a restorable piece (I sell watches you know) it was always going to be ruined. So I contacted Jack at IWW who has done a few jobs for me restoring my watches who's work is excellent.

The watch came on a vintage bracelet in great condition but apart from the case the hands were 'worn' out!

So I had Jack prepare the case and bracelet by bead blasting them with a fine bead to create a key for the PVD. The biggest problem was the crown as it was almost impossible to remove the seal and re use but my watchmaker in the UK came up with a little tool that would remove the rubber seal without breaking it so it could go back in later.

So with the case/bracelet PVD coated I ordered a new handset from Omega voila' you have one of the nicest PVD watches imaginable.

It has gone on my site as the costs involved were great so someone is going to get a fantastic watch when it sells.

Ask away if you would like any more information.

It's a cool watch and I would like to keep it but then I would like to keep all of them that is why I will not be reiring any time soon!

Regards

Alistair
