Watch browsing in Italy

I was in Ravenna on the Adriatic coast a few days ago, and found two Omegas worth physically handling. One was the 45mm PO, and all I have to say is DAMN!! that is one humongous watch!! The thing is 50% thicker than my Ti Seamaster, and weighs at lest TWICE as much!! It was nice looking, but I can't imagine having that much weight on one of my wrists.

The other was a Speedy Formula 1, and it was pretty cool looking, but not waterproof enough for my needs. While I was looking at it I did indeed think of that hideous botched NASCAR tach ring, and it does indeed occur to me that the genius that got that wrong COULD be the product of an incestuous relationship somewhere in the deep South.

BTW - watch shopping in Northern Italy is strictly a spectator sport from the street looking in the shop windows. With all of the major brands I saw, ALL of the high buck stuff was in the window, and when you go inside to look for more watches, there really aren't any others to speak of. Not at all like Germany or the Caribbean. (:<)
