Dropped a question here about the BA with 3303 that I picked up at a very good price due to the problems it was exhibiting. Took Chucks advice and did some homework on the problems and shipped it off to Bienne with a longish letter stating what I would like done and wether they would like to comment on the "known" problems associated with the earlier versions of this movement.
After just 3 days (I shipped from UK to Switzerland) I have had an email with an estimate for repairs - 450CHF to do a full service and refinish the case etc plus 30CHF postage to get it back. They made no comment on the problems I pointed out.
I am not greedy or going to push them for a discount, in fact I consider 480CHF to be a damn good price to bring the BA back to original condition with a 2 year warranty.
Working it out on my fingers and toes, when it comes back (after just 5 weeks apparently)it will have cost me less than a third of the new price of a BA in total. Now I consider that money well spent!
