If you read all of what he says, the FACTS he submits show only that he had a problem between himself and his dealer over who was responsible for the damage to his watch. Yet tries to escalate the issue into an "all Omega watches are crap" tirade.

If you read all the followup messages, nobody offers any REAL EVIDENCE that this happened to anyone else. Everyone is just reacting shocked at this guy's alarming-sounding story.

Too many people have misconceptions that expensive watches are abuse-proof. They think that when they pay more for something than they ever have before that the item must be MORE INDESCRUCTIBLE than the less expensive ones they have previously owned. If something does go wrong with the watch, then the watch MUST BE DEFECTIVE, because expensive stuff should not break.

So these people fail to read instructions, understand the limits of what they own, or take appropriate care. Then they are astonished and mad when it breaks and want someone else to take responsibility for fixing it.

Okay, even if that one watch *was* defective, this is an isolated case at best. The TimeZone.com Omega Forum aggressively solicitied for information on any other cases of this happening where Omega failed to make the customer happy. They found no evidence that there were any such problems with either the watches or Omega service.

So this guy's allusions that this happens all the time and Omega watches are crap is completely unsupportable.
