Since I was just sitting here in the office discussing the film with a colleague, I thought I would offer my thoughts...
We went to see the film last night and though my expectations were pretty high (given the trailer I'd seen and other reviews I'd read), the film didn't disappoint at all. In fact I found it very satisfying and certainly miles better than the last several Bond films.
Daniel Craig is pretty cool as Bond. There's a lot been written about how he is bringing a human touch to Bond, showing his vulnerability and all that.... well if vulnerability is leaping across building tops, skinning arch-criminals at poker, blowing up embassies and generally playing the super-agent, then I'm all for it. And he is wearing a succession of Omega watches which is pretty cool as well :-)
The film is just more mature, a bit more less cartoon-ish than previous Bonds, whilst still not taking itself too seriously. The fact that it actually represents the start of Bond's 007 career allows the character to develop over the course of the film as he's not yet bound to some of the accepted Bond cliches that have been established over the years.
Overall, it's a pretty exciting and stylish film which will leave you with a big grin on your face and looking forward to the next one.
