Some Random "Casino Royale" Thoughts...
I know this is something that only a WIS would think about, but did anyone else wonder about the abuse Bond's Planet Ocean must have endured during the early action scenes in the film? After watching them, I actually thought, "He can kiss his outer AR coating goodbye, since it probably has too many scratches to make keeping it worthwhile."
The other thing that I noticed (and off the topic of watches) was that TONS of the promo posters showed Bond with his old Walther PPK, and someone confirmed that the Bond people had ordered some for the film. If this was the case, then why did he only use the P99 throughout the film? Further, he used the old style P99 like the one Brosnan used. In 2004 the P99 underwent some significant cosmetic upgrades, yet even the picture of Bond on Omega's website shows him holding the old style P99. Maybe the Bond people didn't want to invest in new props, since the old ones were already converted to shoot blanks. Still, I did find it odd that he was wearing the newest watches but using the older sidearm.
Interestingly, I did notice that Daniel Craig must have been given some half decent firearms training for the film. During the scene where he retrieves the P99 from his Aston Martin, you can see him load the gun and then press down on the top of the slide. This was done to decock the pistol, making it safer to carry. Unless you knew the details of all of the P99's safety features, you'd overlook this while watching the film.
Just some useless thoughts...
