: So, then the questions becomes is it even worth
: making both sides of the bracelet
: symmetrical around the clasp? Would that
: matter in any way? Thanks.
Each half link in the Bond bracelet is 4mm long, and a full link is 9mm long. So, if you took out 2 half links and replaced them with a full link, your bracelet would be only 1mm longer.
Symmetry is not important at all - getting the proper, most comfortable fit is. As a general rule, the 12 o'clock side of the bracelet should always be longer than the 6 o'clock side, or the two sides should be of equal length. The 6 o'clock side should never be longer.
As an example, my Bond SMP bracelet is set with 5 1/2 links on the 12 o'clock side and 4 1/2 links on the 6 o'clock side. I could have taken out both half links and just put 5 full links on both sides, but the bracelet feels more comfortable to me the way it is. I prefer the fit of a longer 12 o'clock side, since this puts the clasp in a more comfortable position.
Enjoy your watch!!!
