For the answer to the NUMBER #1 most frequently asked question here--for details or value of a specific older Omega watch you have--go to: Tell Me About My Omega. | Learn more about How To Include Photos and HTML In Your Postings. | To contact someone with a question not relevant to other readers of the forum, please click on their email address and contact them privately. |
That is a good UK price, but bear in mind that while Omega's SSP on that watch is £1050, most dealers will discount it to around £950 if you twist their arm (mine did). Alternatively, most of the larger high street jewellers offer Omega's ten months interest free credit deal, which is a fairly painless way of paying for it (and certainly cheaper than leaving it on your credit card for any length of time).
Also, don't underestimate the value added by your authorized dealer. They'll tailor the bracelet for you when you buy the watch, and it's good to have a relationship with someone local should -- heaven forfend -- problems arise, or if you want the watch regulated in its early days. And there's a lot to be said for the enjoyment of the watch-buying experience -- and you'll have none of the risk involved in buying mail-order.
Finally, bear in mind that irrespective of what happens with stamping the warranty card etc, you're still buying a grey market watch from a non-approved source. Is it worth it to save sixty quid? I don't think so.
