sorry to sound a bit OTT, but would the helium release valve actually help, ie could oxygen really get through the value which was designed for helium. - Would it be better unscrew the crown?

Also, how often does the crystal 'pop' out (rare is not never) - I have a newish SMP, does that make a difference? - Should I leave the crown unscrewed for the whole duration of the flight?
