Purchased my first fine watch today at lunch, the Omega Sea Master Pro Chronometer. After reading almost every word on this excellent site and others, I was ready to check the watch out completely. I was a little cautious due to an experience one individual had with Bailey Banks and Biddle, but based upon the overwhelming positive and happy owners in this forum and others I made the plunge.
I checked the watch out thoroughly and it appears perfect (no dust specs inside, scratches, perfect alignment of bezel and ticks, etc).
I only have one question. When screwing down the crown, after setting the date and time, how snug should it feel? I don't want to over or under tighten. The manuals are really are no help at all in this regard and I wondered if there was a general rule of thumb that was easy to follow and yet ensure the watch is watertight.
Thanks to Derek for such a great site, and to everyone who contributes to this forum...I have to stop looking at my watch or people will think I'm later for something. :o)
