Chronograph Jam

I just bought my first Omega, the Speedmaster Pro.

I was playing with the chronograph when it apparently jammed and my whole watch lost 10 minutes. I reset the chronograph and the watch appears to be fully functional. I am curious if anyone has ever encountered this problem and if so if there is an explination to it. Is there anything further I should do?

I am guessing I am just a bit paranoid but am looking for some advice.
