Hi Guys,
As promised here are a few f300 pics. (No Particular order )
I bought this one as a "donor" , the seller said it came with box & papers. He wasn't kidding. it even has the original Hang-Tag ! It has a personal engraving on the back for long service in a company & to be honest, even though the watch case is not in great condition ( the gold plating is almost completely gone - look at the upper edges of the case) I don't have the heart to break this package/watch up.
Somebody ( Alex Cogle ) has been awarded this watch , worn it with pride ( A LOT !) & kept everything together, for a long time. It was awarded in 1974 & I bought it about 30 yers later.
Next up was another that I bought as a "donor", but when this one arrived I was just amazed at the condition. So this one's not getting broken up either !
After this I finally found my "donor"... or did I ? - Nope. Again it is too nice to break up ;-)
So by this stage, I've almost given up on a Donor. I saw a blurred pic of a Gold coloured f300 with what looked like a "horrible" dial, so I homed in on that one & bought the next "donor".... Guess what ? I don't have the heart to break this one either. I mean, just look at it.
Don't you just love eBay auctions with bad blurry pics !
Isn't this just an amazing dial. I love it.
SO, some of you may be asking WHY does he need a "donor"... well I have another f300. This was my first & was my original "target". (it's not the assymetric D cased Connie - you've seen that before ).
I bought the one on the left here 3 or 4 years ago.
It doesn't run, & the hands are "Not quite right" see how the minute hand is showing 9 past and the hour hand is about 10 to.... "not quite right". & there a chip in the crystal at 02:00 etc etc.
I have no idea what is wrong with the movement, but a "donor" could be useful here.
The watch on the right was another "accident". a friend of mine bid & won it. To save postage costs he had it sent to me. It is NOT the same as mine. look at the case, where the bracelet attaches..... Hmmmm so now I have to buy ANOTHER f300 :-) ( Oh dear, what a shame, never mind )
And there are also black dialed variants of these watches... so even more Yee Hah !!!
I never intended starting an f300 collection, but somehow, it just seems to have happened.
Now guys, Show me some more !
S.
