Sorry to say but this watch has one of the most flakey re-dials Ive seen in a while. The cal 552 movement looks as though its been through the wars.
There is rust on the crown, ratchet wheels and regulastor by the look of it and rotor wear marks on the bridge.
I would think the movement badly needs a service and that you will find more rust in the keyless works on the dial side of the plate.
Fortunately you paid well under a good example. I'd be inclined to not to give this one to grandad....as I think he may have a few troubles with it.
