: Will a strong (or weak) magnetic field have any
: effect on a SMP automatic? How about a
: quartz model? Information would be
: appreciated. I do not want to damage my new
: SMP.
The SMP has an anti-magnetic shield around the movement. So you should not have any problems unless you are around any unusually high magnetic fields.
The few reports I've heard of magnetic-related problems were from people who were exposed to the large, extremely high voltage transformers. These were people who had to actually wrk in or around them, such as wiring and repair technicians.
