Hi. First, this is not normal for the Memeomatic to be triggered by normal everyday movements.
Now the news only gets worse..... The cal 980 in the Memomatic is notoriously difficult to repair, especially the alarm mechanism. Also, I hear there is a shortage of parts. This is reflected, for example, in the restoration price of 660CHF that Omega charges to work on this watch.
So unless you really know what you are doing I would not attempt this myself. Furthermore, I would be careful who I select to work on the watch... FWIW - you could probably find a fully functional Memomatic (at least the 166.072) for less than the cost of restoration...
