There has been a lot of personal torment over this watch. I have read all of the comments below and they are dual purpose comments...very helpful/insightful and add to my indecision at the same time.

When the dust settles, the crystal is no-brainer for me. I will let my watchmaker take a stab at cleaning up those hands, but I fear that the minute hand is finished. We'll see.

The only advice I am going to ignore is Chuck's recommendation to not agonize/overanalyze this...I'm way beyond that already. :)
