Yes, I have a 6 1/2" wrist and have worn the full size for over 2 1/2 years. It is great!
Its NOT the size of your wrists that determine the watch size choice--it is your overall height. The full size is often the best choice for men that are of average height or above. Men that are shorter in stature usually look better with the mid size.
