Hi: a friend has a 2913 bezel that has black paint, with white numbers, in the bezel ring. it's wearing off.
Is this original? I have seen pictures that look like paint, and others that are clearly back-painted acrylic inserts (more domed than the later 300 inserts). Did Omega do both? Or is the latter simply an attempt to recreate the now impossible to find acrylic bezel insert?
this is more than academic, as my friend is angry with the dealer adn repairman, and not sure who to blame for his flaking paint!
thanks for any help.
