In Response To: Hard to reconcile the dates... *PIC* (Chicagoland Chuck Maddox)

Thanks again for the Reply Chuck.

I realized that the Mark 2 was made after apollo 7.

Yeah, it's like the old Dire Straits song "Industrial Disease":
"Two men claim they are Jesus, One of them must be wrong!"

I mean I hate to rain on the parade, but I just don't see a Mark II flyin' on A7. A latter mission perhaps, but...

I wonder if the jacket can give us some details on the original date.

Maybe, I don't know. I'm not sure how, but if someone works/worked at NASA is familiar with the material pattern and color and can vouch for what era's it was used, maybe it'd narrow things down.

The apollo 7 patch really does look it was cut from a jacket. It has blue material on the back of it. I will do a nice scan of it today.

I took a look at your pictures and I mean I remember Christa McAuliffe [sadly and the other Challenger 7] Wearing Jumpsuits of a not entirely dissimilar color material...
But what it would mean in the grand scope of things with relation to the watch? I wouldn't be able to predict.

The jacket is a chrome / silver bomber style jacket with fur around the collar. I cannot find any reference pictures yet.

I can't say I've ever quite seen anything like that. I've seen Sage Green which can look a little silvery in certain light, but...

I will take some pictures soon.

I'm keeping an open mind, it's usually interesting to explore the possibilites!

Cheers!
