2254 losing time

I'm the proud owner of a 2254. Picked it up new back in October. Problem is that it looses about 5 secs a day. But when I just put it on it was about 8 secs in bit less than 24hrs(resting on it's crown). I have tried various resting positions, none really seems to "cancel" out the loss. It is certainly over cosc limits. Any ideas? Can I take it to any AD? I bought it at an Atlantic City AD and don't have that one near me. There are several other AD's around me. Should I live it for awhile, is there a deeper issue that should be looked at? I would feel better having it handed to an AD to deal with it if it needs to be sent out. I love this watch but feel it could do better, I'm I wrong?

Thanks
