It occasionally happens for the outer box to get accidentally swapped with a different watch at a dealer. Someone opens several to look at at the same time and does not pay attention to putting them back in the right outer boxes. It happened to my wife's De Ville--the serial number on its box matches a mens watch!
So I wouldn't worry about the outer box. As long as the contents are correct! There should be a little plastic hang tag that is ususally on the watch itself that should have the movement and model number.
