I’m finally taking the step of buying my first quality watch. I’ve decided on the Omega Speedmaster Chronograph 3210.51, but I’m not sure where to buy it from.
I’ve done some research, and I’ve narrowed it down to two options for buying it on the web.
http://www.bernardwatch.com or from amazon.com (is sold by Perfect Timing).
Both sites have gotten good customer reviews, but I’m still having some doubt about buying it online.
The retail price at both sites is USD 2120. With sales tax and shipping, it will cost me about 2800. If I buy it from an official seller here (Norway), it will cost me about USD 3650.
Basically I’m looking for some advice about what to do. Are there any other web sites that you would recommend or/and do anyone out there have any experiences with the sites mentioned. The more I read about grey market sellers, the more I’m also leaning towards perhaps just buying it from an official seller. In that regard I’m wondering if the extra cost might be worth it in terms of improved warranty.
Any suggestions would be appreciated as I’m completely new to this.
