You can see this watch on page 45 of the new (red cover) 2000 catalog. In the catalog photo, the 3 o'clock market is clearly a wedge.
Maybe you were seeing an illusion due to the small digitized picture on Omega's site. Or maybe you have a poor monitor. You mentioned the dial was unreadable in the picture 'dwiles' originally asked about--yet I can read it fine on my monitor.
