The SMP--like most mechnical watches--has NO concept of months. It just assumes every month has 31 days. You expect to have to correct it on February which is an unusually short month. So that only leaves 4 shorter months that you have to remember to roll it forward a day at the end of that month--April, June, September, and November.
"Perpetual calendar" watches and digital watches are the ones that DO correct for the lengths of the four 30 day months. But the mechanical watches that do this tend to are more expensive. Some *really* expensive mechanicals even correct for the oddities of February.
