I own both watches - a pre-COSC SuperO, and the 2531.80 SMP.
Both are fine watches, with their own endearing qualities. I had a small problem on the Breitling with the bezel becoming loose, but this was fixed under warranty, and I have had no other problems with either watch.
My watches don't suffer any extreme physical abuse, other than normal day-today wear, though I did go scuba diving with my SMP, without any ill effects.
As I expected, my COSC SMP is more accurate, but the SuperO keeps very good time also.
The helium relief valve on the SuperO is a much better design, the Omega's more of a styling cue.
The Supero is the chunkier watch, so may be more prone to knocking or catching on edges, the rider tabs on the bezel occasionally get caught on material, but nothing too drastic.
If someone held a gun to my head and asked me to choose, I would choose the SMP.....just!
