Patina adds character! Don't fear it! Everyone would love to own a "square edged and frosty flats" minty example that looks like it was stored in a dealer's safe and forgotten for forty years. As we all know, those finds are few and far between. There is something added to a vintage piece with a little patina, what Jeff Stein has likened to the Japanese affinity with "Wabi"...
I think your new acquisition is just one of those things...
