I have the SMP full size steel on steel with the polished steel bezel. A few months after wearing it on a daily basis, I noticed tiny scratches in the polished steel of the bezel and band. Having heard horror stories from owners who tried various scratch removal techniques, I resigned myself to a toothbrush and water and lived with the scratches.
Then I got as tip (from a Rolex owner nonetheless) that Rembrandt toothpaste works well at blending scratches and cleans great. Reluctant to use this on my pride and joy, I first experimented on an old ZOdiac I have that has too many dings and dents to ever be pretty again.
To my surprise and delight, it works! The scratches are still there, but not as noticeable and it really cleans well. Afterwards, I just rinse with water.
Aside from finding a jeweler with the tools and ability to remove deeper scratches from polished steel, does anyone else have any cleaning or scratch removal ideas, experiences or techniques?
Much thanks,
Johnny
