I have always wondered about that. Omega at Bienne has no problem at all replacing faces, hands, bezels etc. Many collectors of other brands see any sort of non-original face as a disaster. At least in the Omega case, the parts are replaced with real NOS parts from the manufacturer.

Just to be sure, we had all the old parts returned. If history reveals that having the original face rather than the Omega NOS replacement on the watch is important, I can always have all those parts put back on. They are in very good condition.

They unfortunately were not cleaned of the black dissolved seal goo at Bienne, just put in the bags. I will need to send them to a watchmaker to have them cleaned of the goo, and packed for long term storage. I don't want to have that stuff dry on there.
