Recent purchse of Omega watch

A few days ago on a local radio Trading Post show a man's Omega watch was offered at a very low price. I purchased the watch, thinking that even if it was not authentic, it was still a good buy as I needed a watch.

I took it to a local watchmaker who was amazed at the condition of the watch. It is indeed genuine and the dial looks as new.

The Serial Number is 29724669. The calibre is 620. The crown is not original and the watchmaker will replace it with an appropriate one.

From the Serial Number, can anyone tell me the style or series of this watch and what the original price was?

Any help will be appreciated as I have never owned a high quality watch before.
