Re: Try this answer from M4tt on WUS, its a classic.......

: Comparing the 1120 against the 3135 is not a fair fight

: Comparing the 8500 against the 3135 is a fairer fight

I believe that the comparison of the 1120 vs the 3135 is as fair a fight is one is going to get.
Both are great movements and are, in my opinion, about as close as any two movements
in terms of reliability and timekeeping. Its a shame someone (Holbrook) has to put a spin on
the thing and discredits the entire comparison. After reading his thoughts on the 2500, 1120,
the 8500 and the Rolex 3135, one has to wonder where he was going with the comparison.
Its seems to me that smoke, mirrors and misdirection are keywords in Holbrooks comparison.
Looking at the cost factor, which is important in the equation, no matter what anyone says,
becomes apparent when one compares one movement to another that cost three times
as much. You have to wonder why the comparison wasn't between the 3135 and the
2500.................or maybe the 3135 vs the 8500. After reading more than one of his
reviews, Holbrook need to keep writing for the rag magazines he does business with
and leave the watch movement reviews for some of the more learned and trained persons,
Just my thoughts, I could be wrong as per my usual, but not this time.
Thanks for the sane comments 312.
