This is pretty normal. In fact, on my Hamilton Auto Diver Chronograph, the pronounced noise is accompanied by a "wobbling" of the entire watch on the bracelet ! (Otherwise known as the "Hammy Wobble").
It's caused by the rotor swinging the wrong way and "freewheeling".
My GMT does this too, but not as much as the Hamilton...
: I very recently (in fact less than a week ago)
: bought my SMP Chrono (2598.80). I love it
: and I think it's great!!
: But please answer me this: Once in every 5-6
: arm/hand movements i hear a rather different
: noise of the mechanism inside (not the
: classic sound of autowinding, but a sound
: which lasts more and sounds louder. Like a
: mechanism that is running and then
: progressively slows down until it stops)
: Should i be worried? Because so far the watch
: is working perfectly...
: Please advise what could be this strange noise?
