: Hi, I have a James Bond Seamaster which I have had from new for 12
: months now. I love it to bits, however in the last 2 months it
: has started gaining time. It gains approx 5 minutes in 7 days
: which is awful. It is an automatic movement. I am extremely
: disappointed and upset with this as I thought that these watches
: were supposed to be ultra-accurate, especially given the
: chronometer certificate achievement. I would welcome any
: comments or similar problems reported by other purchasers.
This post is old, and the problem undoubtedly resolved by now--for this particular user. But the problem of "fast running" Seamasters remains. I have bought two Seamasters in the last year--one a regular wavy-blue-dial Seamaster, and the other, a "007 limited edition" with a black lacquered dial. The first Seamaster gained 10 seconds a day. I took it to the Swatch Service Center in Toronto, and in 20 minutes the Seamaster was regulated to gain less than a second per day. The second "James Bond" Seamaster, purchase only a week ago, gains 12 seconds per day. It will be similarly be adjusted. So, I think Seamasters leave the factory running fast. Omega--are you listening?
