Deville water resistancy? *PIC*

I recently purchased this watch used. As soon as received, to assure that it would be in good condition for the future; I sent it to an advertised repair service in Pennsylvania who cleaned, lubed, and adjusted. He also fit a new crystal and stem and replaced the band with one from a bad Quartz watch which I previously owned. Cost was fairly substantial for the work. The watch looks great but has very poor water resistance, what I am saying is that if it even gets close to water but not wet it seems to fog the crystal. I would think that a watch labeled Seamaster would be more resistant. The watch repair service now claims no guarantee to serviceability and says I should be more cautious with a watch of its age. I am reluctant to return to him based on his comments and attitude. I trying to make sure it is dry and safe but it sure seems that an Omega watch should provide better protection. I only have a case #459681 and C6336 from the repair service, no info on movement or other ID. My search to Omega vintage turns up nothing with that data alone. Does anyone have suggestions or opinions? I believe that a competent jeweler should be able to make this watch friendlier to wear.
