With that being said, im a little confused as to the current state of events. You said you left it at the boutique in protest, but has the watch been fixed, and if so, how long did it take for them to resolve the issue?
What is their refund policy? Did you demand a replacement or refund the next day? What did they say regarding the watch, did they accuse you of damaging it? If there is not visible sign of damage, they you could maybe demand a refund on the basis of merchantibility. You may have a small claims case too. YOu probably won't get anywhere with an attorney because its small potatoes for them unless you have a friend who can maybe write them a letter for no $$.
Personally I feel for you. They should have just offered another watch to you or offered to refund the purchase price. Bad publicity does a lot more damage than the cost of one watch.
