Re: May 12, 2009 -- First Anniversary of Chuck's Passing

:
: Tomorrow will mark the first anniversary of the passing of Chuck
: Maddox, on May 12, 2008, at age 46.

: I expect that many readers will want to mark Chuck's passing by
: posting a tribute, telling a favorite story about Chuck, wearing
: a special chronograph, reading one of his articles or browsing
: his website. Any of these remembrances would have made Chuck
: happy.

: Jeff

I got to know Chuck in the last year of his life, after meeting him at the Los Angeles Omegamania showing in February 2007. We came to speak almost daily during my drive home from work. His wit and wisdom in person echoed his the style displayed in the prose of his postings.

When I see anything horologically intriguing, I miss him because Chuck's views on such matters (and non-watch matters as well) could be unexpected, humorous and thoughtful. The conversation was always a delight . . . .

Rest in peace, Chuck
