Re: Seamaster Chrono mod?
In Response To: Re: Seamaster Chrono mod? ()

Thanks! Yeah, I'd prefer not to mod a watch like an Omega and I did find that the watch was made, albeit with blue dial, in the 2598.80 so I'll be looking for that used rather than mess up a brand new watch. I can "live" with blue :)

: Yup, shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't buy the whole bezel
: assembly though (lotsa bucks and it might be tough to convince
: an OD's Watchmaker to frankenstein your watch for you). The
: bezel insert can just pop out (be careful not to dent it, in
: case you want to use it again) and you can purchase a third
: party insert from Ebay for about $30 that usually just pops in
: with no glueing etc. The whole bezel assembly costs about
: $300-$700 (if I recall correctly) and yes, I would get that
: professionally installed if that is the way you want to go
: (unless you have the tools and know-how).

: I have a Bond-like chronometer (the titanium version that came out
: before 007 had even adopted the Omega's) and I just switched out
: the old scratched up navy blue insert with a third party black
: one. Looks really sharp for a 15 year old watch that I've worn
: almost every day since purchasing it.
