fantastic thanks. So I opened it and with a magnifying glass just about managed to decipher:

1910 or 1310 and eight 8 jewels unadjusted.

on the back: acier inoxydable and 196.0060 so I've now found bracelets and leather straps that will fit. thank you very much.

Surely it can't be 1910?? can it. My father was a sailor.. i'm leaning towards a Seamaster but that is guesswork.

Any clues? I haven't had this much fun in a long time! The mechanisms are incredible. Thank you.
