Re: OMEGA SEAMASTER AUTO CHRONO 2594.52.00

: John
: Thank you for the input. could you be more specific about
: "teething trouble"? I am really new so I do
: apologize. May i also ask which model does your friend have.
: Could that teething trouble be factory defects or something
: everyone can experience when they have a omega watch over a
: period of time.

: Thanks again for your time.

This particular model houses the 33xx family of movements that had a significant amount of trouble when they were first issued. Particularly the chrono hand not resetting perfectly to the 12 o'clock position, amongst other things. I personally witnessed this problem in a brand new Schumacher Speedmaster in a dealer's case. The chrono always reset to the :58 mark. It is a known defective movement, however Omega has been cautious about labeling it as such. Over the last few years fixes have been introduced to correct the problems and it seems that as time moves on fewer problems are reported, most likely on older stock watches. Problem is that you don't know if you are getting a newer model or an older one, its a crapshoot. This is indeed a beautiful watch, just be aware of the problems and if you pick one up, if any problems arise in the warranty period send it in immediately.

Do not buy this one second hand.
