Re: How to remove scratches on SMP 2531.80 question

: Hello
: I am new to this forum and had a question that hopefully someone
: could answer. I have a bunch of Omega's Rolex's etch but my
: question is in regards to the 2531.80. I have a few brush mark
: (swirl scratches)on the bracelet mainly on the brushed portion
: of the bracelet and I was wondering if anyone has experience in
: removing them and how to do so.
: Any input would be appreciated.
: Regards
: Peter

Peter this one is my forte!
The Bond bracelet is a b^^ch for attracting scratches the trick is to use a green house hold scourer (scotch pad). you use masking tape to mask off the polished segments, then work in a too and fro motion (one direction only)to put the brush finish back.Be carefull not too brush too hard or you will bleed through the masking tape and scratch the polished segs. You will need to apply masking tape about 7 0r 8 times to complete the 9 piece segmented strap. It is time consuming but a refurb will cost around £30 so it is worth the effort to do it yourself .you can mask and brush the watch head in the same way. i have refurbed Omega's, Tag's and Rolex subs this way,John.
