Re: How to remove scratches on SMP 2531.80 question

: Peter this one is my forte!
: The Bond bracelet is a b^^ch for attracting scratches the trick is
: to use a green house hold scourer (scotch pad). you use masking
: tape to mask off the polished segments, then work in a to and
: fro motion (one direction only)to put the brush finish back.Be
: carefull not too brush too hard or you will bleed through the
: masking tape and scratch the polished segs. You will need to
: apply masking tape about 7 0r 8 times to complete the 9 piece
: segmented strap. It is time consuming but a refurb will cost
: around £30 so it is worth the effort to do it yourself .You can
: mask and brush the watch head in the same way. i have refurbed
: Omega's, Tag's and Rolex subs this way,John.

p.s for small fiddly bits i have made my own scratch pen by using a empty bic biro pen.if you rip a small section off the scotch pad you can feed it into the pen where the refill went (you may need to poke it down with a pointed tool) expose a few strands, hey presto! you now have a scratch pen to put a brushed finish into tight reach area's.John.
