I have the same movement in my 2254. I never need to wind it if I wear it daily; I also mostly sit at a desk.

If your continues to stop, and you're wearing it daily, I'd take it to a recommended watchmaker for a look-see.

You don't say if it's new; if so, it ought to go back to the dealer, of course. If not, then it might need a service, and should go to a watchmaker anyway.

you're right about the overwind protection: when winding, eventually you'll start to hear a gentle click every few turns, which indicates you're up against the limiter.
