If you are nostalgic and want to preserve the tradition of wearing a watch with a movement, that basically has not changed in the last 75 years, and keeps time as accurately as it did way back then, go for the automatic. If you want a quality watch that keeps perfect time, no matter when you wear it or how you lay it down, go for the quartz. (if you chose the automatic you will also get to spend $300 every 3 or 4 years to keep that mechanical movement working so it only loses or gains 5 or 6 seconds a day. Not to mention, the traditionalists who represent the vast majority of this board, will invite you to all their Omegan get togethers, where you can talk mechanical watch movements late into the night!!!)
