Omega Geneve Dynamic help!!

Hi, can anyone help?
I tried to remove the crown from my Omega Geneve Dynamic. After reading other posts it seemed that all I had to do was pull it and it would come off. Well it did come off but I'm not sure if I've broken it as what I have now is a crown all on it's own and a long metal pin coming out of the body of the watch (with a thread). I can't see any way that I can reattach them as there is no groove to screw into inside the crown. What there is in the middle of the crown is just a small piece of metal sticking up. I wondered if something is missing as the crown flew in the air when i pulled it out and maybe something else came out too that I didn't notice although I don't think so.
Sorry if my message is unclear and confusing. I'm new to this. I was hoping I could attach a photo to explain but can't see how.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!!
