First European Chronometer Competition in 30 years

Was completed and the results announced on 3 December 2009. Only open to European competitors.

16 watches were entered and only the winner in two categories (brand and independent) were announced

First place was won by the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Tourbillon Cal. 978 with 909 points (from a maximum possible score of 1000 points).

JLC Reverso GyroTourbillon 174 -- Second Place

Second place went to the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Gyrotourbillon Calibre 174 with a score of 908 points.

Independent Watches

Oliver Randin CLARO 11 1/2'" -- WINNER

The first place in the catagory "Independents" was taken by René Addor with his Caliber Papillon which received 795 points.

Interestingly, none of the results were released, only the winners. Placement in the competition was not released.

However, the manufacturers could release their own results. JLC disclosed they placed first and second, unsurprisingly (that it was released)

Surprisingly little press about the competition in the watch magazines . . . .
