I got the 2254.50 .
I think in the new design is much better and the watch looks great. I had the same problem as you in the long run the Glitzyness of the Blue/Bond watch was not what I wanted. The next delema I had was with the band. I chose the Bond style over the speedmaster style. The design is so much different then the Speedmaster/rolex style band.... It screams SEAMASTER.
Oh if you could not tell I love the watch... looked at the Submariner...but purchased a Seamaster
