Re: N Morris non constellation models as Globemaster

Hi Sam,

Long time no hear.

Here's a picture of a 1959 Omega US price list from SteveW's Old-Omegas.com website. It shows both the Constellation (the trademark issued had been settled) and Globemaster models.

The cal. 491/501 movements had gone out of production in Switzerland by 1959. My guess is that Omega made Mr. Morris a good offer to take the unused stock and he put them in US made non-waterproof cases. From the relative prices, these 2nd generation Globemasters seemed to have been slotted below the Seamaster line.

There is an entry for a manual-wind Globmaster on the price list, but I've never seen one.

Take care,
gatorcpa
