Hard to give more details as model 396.0938 isn't on the Omega vintage database (0936 and 0937 are but not 0938). But the way you deswcribe the case it may be one of the 'Mariner' models with the key bolt compressor case. Does it have a small palque in gold with Quartz written on it?

Probably the best bet is to go directly to the Swatch Group in Glen Iris, Victoria, (03) 8844 3300, and ask them if parts are available. Also there may be generic seals available, but its the crown (and its seal) that is most important to find as that also contributes to the water resistance of the watch. If the watch is not working, best get the battery our of it because of potential leakage.

If you take it to an Omega service centre, hopefully, with a 1984 watch, they won't want to send it back to Bienne for an outrageously expensive make-over. However, if you know parts are available is Australia, you then have the choice of going elsewhere. You could source a good watchmaker and tell him that you've already determined that seals etc are available from Swatch.
