Question for you fellow Omega owners. When people have the good taste to notice my watch, they inevitably ask me how much it cost. I'm never sure what to say. If I tell them, then I'm drawn into defending such an extravagant purchase. If I say, "well, it was a lot" then I just sound pompous. What do you tell people when they ask? How do you explain to someone why you spent almost 2 grand for a watch that doesn't keep time much better than a Timex (as far as most people are concerned).
I don't really feel the need to justify owning an Omega to people. I'm just looking for a good, quick way to convey to people why a Omega chronometer is so expensive and yet so worth it. What do you guys think?
